Nissan Altima’s Safety Features
The midsize sedan segment is one of the most heated in the automotive industry and that’s where the 2016 Nissan Altima dominates. In addition to power, space, and design, the Nissan Altima’s safety features are at the top of its class. From advanced technologies to class-exclusive features, the Nissan Altima tops the competition with ease.
Starting with the basics, the Nissan Altima offers six standard airbags.
The sedan’s design itself transfer crash energy throughout the car, preventing significant damage to passengers as well.
The Altima comes stocked with a set of available Safety Shield Technologies. The class-exclusive Predictive Forward Collision Warning detects multiple vehicles ahead of the Altima. If it detects a sudden change in speed, it alerts the driver accordingly. Meanwhile, Forward Emergency Braking keeps an eye on the vehicle directly in front of the Altima and applies the brakes if the driver doesn’t respond in time.
When attempting to change lanes, Blind Spot Warning chimes in (literally) if there’s another vehicle in the driver’s blind spot. Rear Cross Traffic Alert watches the Altima’s back when reversing out of a parking space by detecting vehicles the driver can’t see.
The 2016 Nissan Altima was the recipient of the Top Safety Pick+ honor by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Backing up the IIHS, the National Traffic Highway Administration awarded the Nissan Altima a top five-star safety rating.
Here at Wright Nissan, we’re happy to offer one of the safest cars in the industry!
