2018 marks 13 fantastic years of partnership for Nissan and Habitat for Humanity. Over those 13 years, Nissan has donated more than $15.5 million to Habitat for Humanity in North America. Habitat for Humanity has been around since 1976 and helps build homes for those in need in more than 70 countries around the world.
To commemorate this continued partnership, Nissan recently made a $1 million donation to build homes across the country, primarily in locations where Nissan has some kind of operational presence in the U.S. But it’s not just money that Nissan donates; it is also its employees’ time. This year, Nissan employees will volunteer in Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, Mississippi, Texas, Virginia, and multiple locations throughout Tennessee.
“There is a growing need for affordable housing across the U.S.,” explained Nissan Vice President of Corporate Development and Social Responsibility, Rebecca Vest. “Nissan values its partnership with Habitat for Humanity because it helps build sustainable communities where our employees live and work. Our employees look forward to working alongside future homeowners, and their experiences affirm our corporate vision to enrich people’s lives.”
Nissan originally kicked off its partnership with Habitat for Humanity following Hurricane Katrina. In the wake of Hurricane Florence, the team at Wright Nissan reminds you how important it is to do our part to help our brothers and sisters in need.
